Lundy Makes It Two In A Row; Wyman Returns to Claim Second
Two weeks after recording her first WMDH Thunder Car feature win, Alexandria's Hannah Lundy made it two in a row at Anderson Speedway on Saturday.

Lundy took the lead at the start and for the first five laps was in a heated battle with Rob Wyman Sr. for the top position.

The two traded the point for the lead on consecutive laps along the front straight as they raced door handle to door handle.

Point's leader Rod Phipps was running third when he suddenly slowed on lap five and pulled into the infield.

From that point Lundy steadily increased her lead beating Wyman to the checkered flag by 2.3 seconds followed by Earl Adams II, Sam Folsom and Herb Rose, who was celebrating his 70th birthday.

As she did on July 31, Lundy exited her Chevrolet and climbed onto the roof of the car to celebrate the victory to the delight of the Anderson Speedway fans.

Lundy thanked Wyman for racing her clean in the early stages of the race.

Wyman returned to action after breaking his foot in a July 31 accident when the throttle stuck on his car during a practice session and he made hard contact with the turn one outside retaining wall.

In the first heat race Earl Adams Il scored his first win of the season holding off a closing Lundy at the finish.

Ronald Adams took the earl lead chased by Tom Tacket, Adams II, Bruce McFall and Lundy. Earl Adams passed Tacket on the second lap with an outside pass on the back straight and on the third lap Lundy passed Tacket on the front straight.

Ronald Adams received the black flag for eclipsing his qualifying time by over a second and was sent to the tail of the field, which gave Earl Adams the top spot.

Adams beat Lundy to the checkers by .3 seconds followed by Sam Folson, McFall and Tacket.

Danny Stanley Jr. took the point at the start of the second heat chased by Wyman, Tony Grissom, Phipps and Rose.

Wyman took the lead on the third circuit with an inside pass of Stanley on the back straight with Phipps claiming the second spot on the front straight.

Phipps used the outside line to take the lead from Wyman on the first straight to record his fifth heat win of the season. He was followed by Wyman, Rose, Stanley and Rob Noel.
