UAW Women’s Committee & GM Ft. Wayne Assembly Join Forces Against Breast Cancer

(October 15, 2013) - The Women’s Committee of the UAW and the GM Ft. Wayne Assemble Plant have teamed up in the battle to end breast cancer with a special Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event to be held Wednesday and Thursday at the UAW GM Truck Assembly plant. The plant is located at 12200 Lafayette Center Road, in Roanoke, IN south of Ft. Wayne.

The Sam Pierce Chevrolet Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2013 Chevrolet Camaro and USSA Champion driver Jessica Bean’s UAW Making Strides Mel Kenyon Midget Series race car will be on display in the plant atrium for approximately 24 hours. Both cars are distinctive in their look and promote the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides campaign.

The men and women of the UAW and General Motors are committed to the fight to conquer breast cancer. The hope is that the cars will encourage all the people associated with the GM Ft. Wayne Assemble Plant to join the Making Strides push to find a cure

Shackleford wins National Crown
Warner, Goodin, Bertino Get Victories

(October 12, 2013) - For 86 laps Jeff Shackleford held off a determined Jesse Tunney to capture the 64th running of the Tim Thompson Nationwide Insurance National Crown at Anderson Speedway.

Shackleford recorded his second career IOFS feature win and became the sixth consecutive different winner in the oldest running stock car race in the county in the past six years. Full Story

Cancer Society Through October

(October 6, 2013) - Retired Hall Of Fame Songwriter Steve Wallace’s song "Anderson Speedway" will benefit the American Cancer Society for every time the song is played on his website.

Royalties for each playing of the song is on Wallace's website at will go to help fight Breast Cancer and other cancers through out the month of October.  Full Story
