Little 500 champion Rollie Beale Passes

died Monday of congestive heart failure at a

Andretti, has taken on the role of March for
Babies Motorsports Champion for 2014 in
Indianapolis. Andretti has seen the March of
Dimes mission and its impact on families,
making his commitment to the good health of
moms and babies personal and meaningful.
March for Babies is the largest annual
fundraising event for the March of Dimes.

Receives National Honor

Long time Anderson Speedway track announcer
Denny Adams is being honored with the Tom Carnegie
of the Year award by the Michigan Auto Racing Fans organization.
Adams, a resident of New Castle, took the microphone as the
voice of the Little 500 in 1981, and has called every event
since. He started working at Anderson Speedway operating the

Adams took over the announcing duties on July 4, 1980 and has
been a mainstay at the track ever since. “I didn’t know the
award existed,” Adams said of the honor. “To win an award named
after Tom Carnegie is the top award an announcer can receive.”
Terry Fitzwater, publisher of Midwest Racing Scene, said he came
up with the idea for the award while attending a Brickyard 400
at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2004. Fitzwater said
Carnegie agreed to have the award named after him, but set four
parameters. The parameters included a great understanding of the
sport; be a person of good character; longevity and

Action Entertainment has released the
tentative 2014 racing schedule for Anderson Speedway that
celebrates it's 67th season. The Speedway has put a big emphasis
on its Saturday night programs for 2014. Headlining Saturdays
will be McGunegill Engine Performance Late Models, Street
Stocks, NASH FM ThunderCars, and Front Wheel Drives in the Oval
and Figure 8 and Thunder Roadsters.
The 2014 season will begin on Saturday, March 29 featuring CRA
Late Model Sportsman, NASH FM ThunderCars in a 75 lap feature
event and Legends.
The schedule is packed with many special events and touring
series in an effort to give the fans a wide variety of
entertainment. Highlighting these will be the 66th Pay Less
Little 500 on Saturday, May 24th with the top asphalt Sprint Car
racers in the country. The Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300
returns for its sixth consecutive year on Saturday, June 14th
featuring the stars from the CRA Super Series Late Models.
Several touring series will make visits to Anderson Speedway
including CRA Super Series Late Models, Must See Racing Winged
Sprints, WOFS Outlaw Figure 8’s, CRA Street Stocks, CRA
Sportsman, USSA Sprints and Kenyon Midgets.
New in 2014 will be a 200 lap Must See Racing Xtreme Winged
Sprint Series event on Saturday, August 30. Fun events returning
in 2014 will be the Night of Thrills on Saturday, October 11 and
the Figure 8 Madness on July 4th.
