Lemmer, Rose And Allman Win On Saturday Night

Anderson Speedway returned to action on Saturday, June 2, after a delayed start due to rain, with the Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks 100, Figure 8’s, and Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks.

Fairland’s own Brian Lemmer took home the victory in the Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks 100 after leading the final 27 laps of the 100-lap feature. Tony Broyles had a dominant truck throughout the first half half of the race, leading 58 of the opening 60 laps. He ended up coming home with a third place finish. The number 47 of Bob Leman took home the second place finish, with Anderson’s Josh Poore and Brandon Phillips finishing fourth and fifth.

Josh Poore was able to claim the top qualifying position with a time of 13.984 seconds. Bob Lemen started on the outside with a time of 14.189 seconds.

Ronnie Rose, of Anderson, took home the checkered in the Figure 8’s, with a dominant car. Rose led all 25 laps of the feature and fended off challenges from Middletown’s Ronnie Phipps. The remainder of the top-five finishers included Rod Phipps, Ranny Hinton, and Bobby Long.

In preliminary action, Rod Phipps won the 20-lap oval heat race. Rookie Dustin Burge placed second with Herb Rose in third place.

The Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks ran a 30-lap feature of 17 cars. Rob Allman, of Anderson, took the first place position on lap 14 from John Lundy and was able to pull through with the victory over Lundy to win his first race of the year. Jake Owens placed third with Randy Hoppes and Jake McElfresh completing the top five.

Lundy and Neil Huddleston won the two heat races. Allman was the fastest qualifier with a time of 14.379 seconds.

Racing continues at Anderson Speedway on Friday, June 8, with the WLBC/MAX Friday Night Summer Series featuring Kenyon Midgets, ThunderCars, and Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 action.

On Saturday, June 9, the CRA Super Series Late Models will be showcased in the Anderson 125 presented by Great Deals Coupon Magazine. The program will also include Figure 8’s, Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks, and KOIL Legend Series.
