11th Annual Stock Car Festival on Saturday and Sunday

Racing resumes at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5 when the 11th Annual Stock Car Festival presented by Anderson Rent All takes center stage.

Featured divisions include Ed Martin Chevrolet SuperTrucks, Street Stocks, ImmediaDent Figure 8’s, Newco Metals Legends, ThunderCars, Quick Auto Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 action along with Mini Cups and USAC Ford Focus Midgets & Kenyon Midgets.

In the Ed Martin Chevrolet SuperTrucks, Joe Beaver claimed the division championship over Josh Poore. Other top season performances were turned in by Rod Phipps, Jerry Faucett and Josh Timmerman.

Jeff Perry notched the Street Stock championship last weekend and also scored a feature victory in the season finale. Rob Allman finished in the second in the final standings with Katie Jackson, three-time division champion Rich Boyer and Randy Hoppes completing the top five.

The ImmediaDent Figure 8 division produced Ranny Hinton winning the owner championship with Rob Allman earning the driver crown. Other strong showings were turned in by former champions Mike Riddle Jr. and Ronnie Rose along with veteran Joe Hart Jr.

John Robbins won back-to-back championships in the Newco Metals Legends after finishing ahead of Billy Smith, Mark Dietzen, Adam Roberts and Clark Dietzen.

The ThunderCar division showcased close competition all season long during the WLBC/MAX Friday Night Summer Series with Lonnie Burton claiming the division championship. Sam Folsom placed second with Tom Tacket, Travis Burge and Tim Nickerson also producing solid seasons.

Randy Hoppes drove to the first Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Pro division title over Donnie Ellis Jr. and Peter Corsaro. In the Oval division, Kevin Harmon took the crown over Andy Keller and Jeff Saxon. The Figure 8 division title went to Andy Keller with Harry Lashure and Ellis Jr. close behind.

The 11th Annual Stock Car Festival presented by Anderson Rent All will also feature action from Mini Cups, USAC Ford Focus Midgets and Kenyon Midgets.

On Saturday, spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 7. Heats races will be showcased on Saturday Night along with ThunderCars, Quick Auto Front Wheel Drives and Mini Cups in feature events. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

On Sunday, feature racing will take place for 10 divisions. Spectator gates open at noon with racing beginning at 1:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free. Two day advance adult tickets are available for $20.
