CRA Street Stocks Return on Saturday Night
Racing action return to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, August 14 with the return of the CRA Street Stocks. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Night at the Races will also showcase WMDH ThunderCars and Front Wheel Drive Figure 8’s.

Heading into Saturday’s event, three-time Anderson Speedway Street Stock champion Rich Boyer leads the CRA Street Stock point standings. The veteran racer has collected four victories at Anderson on the season including a CRA Street stock event in April. New Castle’s Brian Hopkins ranks second in the standings with Jeff Lane listed in third spot. The remainder of the top five includes Steve Christman and Rick Erwin.

In the Street Stock standings, Rob Allman holds a slight 28 points lead over Boyer. Third is Derrick Layne with Randy Hoppes and Todd Marsh filling out the top five.

Rod Phipps capitalized from points leader Rob Wyman’s bad luck in the WMDH ThunderCars to take over the first position in the standings. Wyman was unable to compete in the most recent event on July 31 after mechanical problems led to contact with wall in practice and caused significant damage to his machine. Third in the points rundown is Hannah Lundy, who scored her first career division victory . Sam Folsom and Earl Adams ll complete the top five.

Nick Warner holds a slim seven point lead in the Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 standings over Rick Tharp. Third is Josh Tharp with Elliott McKinney and Harry LaShure completing the top performers.

Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. on Saturday with racing beginning at 8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
