CRA and Anderson Speedway Announce SPEC Tire for 2011 season
The Series, Track and Tire Dealer Motion Motors Announce Plan for FREE Tires at Start of Season

(January 25, 2011) –
Officials from Champion Racing Association (CRA) and Anderson Speedway announced today that a Hoosier “750” will serve as the spec tire for Late Model Sportsman and Street Stock divisions in 2011 and beyond. Once again, Motion Motors will serve as the dealer for the track and the series.

The track, series and dealer, have all combined to implement a program to give away FREE tires at the beginning of the season. Every team that races at the FIRST event of the season in these divisions, for either Anderson Speedway or CRA, will receive 2 FREE tires with the purchase of at least two others. Teams that attend the openers of both Anderson Speedway and CRA may only take advantage of this offer one time.

“We’ve spent a lot of time working on this FREE tire program,” noted CRA Founder R. J. Scott. “This is a program that is collectively being paid for by CRA, Anderson Speedway and Motion Motors with NO price increase to the racers! We think this will be a great help to everyone at the start of the season!”

Finding the right tire was the key to implementing the one tire for both divisions. Motion Motor’s Jack Neal commented, “The Street Stock teams were looking for a change, and the Late Model Sportsman teams needed just one tire, and a more durable tire than last year’s selections. With this 750 we can meet everyone’s needs. This is a great tire that repeats well, wears well, and will save the racers money.

After last year, the Late Model Sportsman teams are going to be very pleased with the economics of this new tire!”

Anderson Speedway owner Rick Dawson is pleased to have the two divisions running on the same tire. “Not only has testing shown this to be a great tire for what we are trying to do,” Dawson commented, “but we are creating an environment where low budget teams will be able to buy the take-offs from top tier teams if they choose, saving money for everyone.”

A version of the 750 was tested over a year ago at 3 different race tracks, including Winchester Speedway. The “Big 8” Late Model Series in Wisconsin and Illinois used a very similar tire in 2010 with great results. “The season-long use by the Big 8 Series with great racing and reduced tire usage gives us a great feeling going into the 2011 season,” Scott noted.

Hoosier will begin production of the 750’s soon, with the racers being able to purchase them from Motion Motors by mid-March. Tire orders can be placed with Motion Motors at 765-533-4849.
