(May 5, 2011) –
It is with the greatest sadness that the staff and management of Anderson Speedway announces that another of our Figure 8 Veterans has passed away.

Bill Lemon, 75, of Pendleton and formerly of Markleville, passed away on May 1st in Seton Hospital following a lengthy illness. I best remember Bill for his domination in the figure 8 in it's hay day, Bill was National Crown Champion in 1963, 67 and 69 and won hundreds of races in his 40 year career at Sun Valley (Anderson Speedway). I really enjoyed watching him race as he was a clean, smooth gentleman always when on the track.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: sons - Bill (Lemon) Muterspaugh, 1996 National Crown Champion Tim Lemon, Jeff Lemon, Mark Wisehart, daughters- Robin (Lemon) Phillips (companion: John Mahaffey), Misty (Lemon) Buck, Cindy (Roy) Thomas, Tracie Hughee, Barb Lemon, and the remainder of the family plus many special friends.

Friends may call Noon to 2:00 pm Friday, May 6th at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Home in Anderson. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 pm at East Maplewood Cemetery with burial to follow.

Memorials may be sent to the family through the funeral home. Condolences may be recorded on line at rjfuneralsvc@aol.com or www.theheraldbulletin.com
