EDCO Welding Street Stocks, WMDH ThunderCars and G.W. Pierce Front Wheel Drives in Action Saturday

(June 5, 2012) – Racing action returns to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, June 9 with appearances from the EDCO Welding Street Stocks, WMDH ThunderCars along with G.W. Pierce Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 action.

Josh Myers paces the EDCO Welding Street Stock point standings on the strength of three feature victories and five top-five finishes. Veteran campaigner Rickie Tharp is second, just 10 markers from first position. The remainder of the top five includes Jimmy Kirby, Tyler Marsh and Frankie Oakes.

In the WMDH ThunderCars, Rob Allman and defending champion Hannah Lundy are tied for position both in the standings. Frankie Oakes ranks in third spot with Earl Adams ll and Travis Burge rounding out the top five.

Consistent performances have placed Ron Phipps in the G.W. Pierce Front Wheel Drive Oval points lead. He holds a 115 point margin over Marshall Clark Jr. Third is Paul Phipps with three-time feature winner Jerry Dane in fourth and Trevin Henson filling out top five.

Mike Alley leads the G.W. Pierce Front Wheel Drive Figure 8’s with Donnie Ellis Jr. ranked in the second spot. Kevin Henson is third in the points rundown with Elliott McKinney and Harry Lashure completing the top five.

On Saturday, June 9, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8. Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
