Marsh Supermarkets Figure 8 Madness to be Showcased on 4th of July

Huge Fireworks Show to Cap Off Program

(July 3, 2012) – One of the most popular shows each year at Anderson Speedway will be showcased on the 4th of July when the Marsh Supermarkets Figure 8 Madness presented by Custom Door Products will take place. Featured events include IOFS Outlaw Figure 8’s, Culver’s Trailer Race, IOFS Prime Graphics Compacts Figure 8’s and IOFS Super Karts. A huge fireworks show will cap off the racing program.

Rockwood, Mich., driver Jeremy Vanderhoof, leads the IOFS National series by 21 points over Charlie Hargraves entering the July 4 Anderson event. Eddie Van Meter won the last IOFS National event at Xenia, OH on May 11th.

Drivers that have scored feature victories at Anderson this season include Charlie Hargraves (March), Jonny Hargraves (April), Eddie Van Meter (May) and most recently Jonny Hargraves (June).

Most of the IOFS regulars are expected to compete to compete including Jeff Hizer, Kenny Boggs, Ronnie Rose, Mike Riddle Jr., Josh Tharp, Jeff Swinford, Shawn Cullen, and Jonny Hargraves among many others.

The IOFS Prime Graphics Compacts Figure 8’s will make their third appearance at Anderson Speedway. Nick Warner has earned the victories in the previous two events held in April and May.

The IOFS Super Karts make a return trip to Anderson after a series debut on April 21. Ben Smith scored the victory over Ryan Cherry and Randy Caldwell.

On Wednesday, July 4, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8. Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
