(April 7, 2013) - Jacob McElfresh was in the right place at the right time to record the victory in the Street Stock season opener when the two front runners spun on the final lap.

Tyler Marsh grabbed the lead on the second circuit by slipping underneath Danny Adams entering the third corner.

Three laps later, Calvin Parham took the lead from Marsh on a restart on lap 11 and started pulling away from his competition. Marsh was battling with McElfresh for the second spot.

But with five laps remaining Parham got trapped behind lapped traffic which allowed Marsh to close. For the final two laps Parham and Marsh exchanged paint going through the corners. Parham was running the low groove with Marsh holding ground on the outside.

Exiting turn two on the final lap Parham and Marsh spun which allowed McElfresh to slip past for the victory. Marsh was credited with second followed by Parham, Jeff Hopkins and Joe Pulley.

“I hate to win like that,” McElfresh said following the win. “I was always told that being patient is better sometimes than being the fastest car on the track.

In the heat race, Parham passed Marsh with an inside move entering turn three on the eighth circuit to record the victory. Marsh finished second followed by McElfresh.
