Rick Trueblood Plans Full Insight ThunderCar Oval Schedule

Veteran Insight ThunderCar competitor Rick Trueblood plans to race the full 2005 schedule at Anderson Speedway, driving his familiar blue No. 16 sponsored by Pelletrino's Place.

“I’m excited to get the 2005 season rolling,” said Rick Trueblood. “We had a great chance at the championship last year before the accident, so I have high hopes for the 2005 season.”

In 2004, Trueblood was involved in a violent accident on Friday, July 9, in the ThunderCar Oval feature. He was collected in a multi-car crash in Turn 3 on the ninth circuit, causing severe damage to his car.

Trueblood completed his return from an injury suffered in that accident with a win in the Insight ThunderCar Oval feature on Friday, August 13. He started from the pole position and drove to a dominating victory in the 20-lap main event.

Using a combination of several drivers, Trueblood was listed fifth in the final 2004 points tally. The No. 16 entry amassed two feature checkered flags, six top-five finishes and 13 top 10s.

For the upcoming 2005 season, the Anderson racer will continue to carry sponsorship from Pelletrino’s Place. He will also have additional sponsorship from Croaker Head, Woody's Bar, Art's Pizza, Nugent Electric and Komaki - Glen Kenney Karate.

The Insight ThunderCar Oval season begins on Saturday Night, April 2, making a special appearance on opening night with the regular Saturday divisions.
