Remembering Greg Dietzen

By Denny Adams
Public Address Announcer

Anderson Speedway and the racing fraternity is saddened on this day to announce the passing of one of our own, Greg Dietzen. He passed away from a fatal heart attack Thursday evening.

Greg could be found behind the wheel of the No. 74 legend the last six years and was a major contributor to Legend racing at Anderson Speedway. This past year, Greg not only brought his own car to the track, but owned the No. 73 of his son Clark and the No. 72 of his nephew Mark.

Dietzen Racing was truly a family thing for them. Greg’s game was really coming along and I am sure that he looked forward to being a major challenger in 2005.

May we pass along our deepest sympathy to Greg’s wife Karrie, to his son Clark and his other two siblings, to Nephew Mark and to the entire Dietzen family.

Greg Dietzen was a class act and we are all better people and better racers because God sent Greg our way. May the same dedication for racing that won Greg the 2002 Dedication Award burn in our hearts and ignite a desire to be the best we can be in the sport that Greg loved so much. Farewell dear Friend.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 pm Tuesday, March 8, at Loose Robert Funeral Home, 200 West 53rd St., Anderson. Funeral services are scheduled at 10 am Wednesday, March 9
