Night of Thrills Postponed Until Sunday, September 3

Anderson Speedway postponed the Night of Thrills program on Saturday, August 26 due to rain showers. The Night of Thrills has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 3, with race time tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m.

Fans did get to see one event before the rain showers. Mt. Summit’s Keith Morris took advantage on the 12th and final lap to win the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 feature.

Anderson’s Nick Warner built a sizeable lead after taking the top spot from Morris on the fourth circuit. Warner, Morris and the third place car of Randy Owen then avoided heavy crossover traffic to maintain their positions as the race progressed. In Warner’s case, however, it was all for naught as he went into the infield grass on the final lap and slowed significantly with a flat tire. Morris took advantage and passed Warner for the victory. Owen ended up third with Joe Hart and Allen Wagner completing the top five.

Anderson Speedway returns to racing action on Friday, September 1 with the Newco Metals Labor Day Weekend. The MAX/WLBC Friday Night Summer Series will feature Newco Metals Legends, Insight ThunderCars & Pro ThunderCars along with Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 racing.

On Saturday, September 2, the Newco Metals Legends will be featured in the 10th Annual Grant Fritz / Greg Dietzen Memorial. The Star Press Saturday Night Series will also showcase Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks, Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks and Chappy’s’ Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Figure 8’s.

On Sunday, September 3, the rescheduled Night of Thrills will feature School Bus Figure 8’s, Roll-Over Contest, Mattress Race, Cork Screw Race, Powder Puff Front Wheel Drives along with Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives. The Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8’s will also make a special appearance on the Night of Thrills.
