J.D. Byrider Super Truck 150 Set
for Saturday Night

Anderson
Speedway returns to racing action with the 2nd Annual J.D. Byrider Weekend of
Power on Friday, August 27. The MAX/WLBC Friday Night Summer Series features the
McCrocklin Ford & Mobility Legends, Insight ThunderCars on the Oval and Figure 8
and Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives.
On Saturday Night, August 28, the Ed Martin Auto Group Super Trucks will be
featured in the J.D. Byrider 150. Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8’s and
Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives will also be featured at Anderson
Speedway.
Scoring
his eighth division victory, Indianapolis competitor James Robertson extended
his point lead in the McCrocklin Ford & Mobility Legends. Nine top-10 finishes
have placed John Robbins second in the standings, 181 markers from Robertson.
The remainder of the top five includes Daniel Russell, Homer Adams Jr. and Eric
Black.
Chesterfield’s Jack Taylor continues to lead the Insight ThunderCar Oval point
standings, with a 63-point cushion on Tim Brown. Third in the points rundown is
Tim Brown with A.J. Jones and William Coffman filling out the top five.
Producing
his 11th top-five finish of the Insight ThunderCar Oval division, Anderson’s Jim
Brown built his point lead to 53 over Ranny Hinton. The most recent winner, Tim
Brown, ranks third in the title chase. Rookies Terry Malone Jr. and Elliott
McKinney complete the top five.
Chris
Teepe recorded his second victory of the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive
season on August 21 and extended his point lead to 194 markers on Chris
Jennings. Teepe has collected 13 top-five finishes this season while Jennings
has notched 13 top 10s. Sam Folsom ranks third in the point standings with Andy
Jennings and Randy Owen rounding out the top five.
On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with qualifying taking center
stage at 6:30. The racing program begins at 8. Admission for adults is $6, with
children tickets for ages 6-12 at $4. Kids five and under are admitted free.
Josh Burton enters the biggest event of the Ed Martin Auto Group Super Truck
season with a 256 point margin on Mike Mendenhall. Registering three feature
wins and 10 top-10 finishes, Burton has constructed a comfortable margin in his
quest for the division title. Jack Dossey Jr. is third in the point rundown with
Ronnie Rose and Jamie Hadley completing the top five.
A
dominating performance in the most recent Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8
division inched Jeff Swinford close to his first championship. The Noblesville
racer leads rookie Josh Tharp by 146 points. Dale Phillips is third with Shawn
Cullen and Curtis Chapman filling out the top five.
On Saturday, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with qualifying set for 6:30. The
racing program begins at 8. Adult tickets are $10 with children ages 6-12 priced
at $4. Kids five and under are admitted free.
