Riddle, Cribbs, Cullen, Tharp and Banta Reign Before the Rain

Threatening weather did not back the racers from putting on a great show Friday evening at the Anderson Speedway with Anderson's Mike Riddle Jr. taking the honors in the Limited Late Models while Muncie's Bill Cribbs was the Legend Main victor. Anderson drivers topped off the rest of the features with Shane Cullen the ThunderCar Oval winner while Josh Tharp was the ThunderCar 8 top dog and Sam Banta was the Chappy's Rent To Own Front Wheel Drive champ.

Riddle led coast to coast in the Limited Late Model Feature. Jason Atkinson looked like a serious contender only to have a tire go down on lap 17. Mike Neal would challenge but that would be all he could do with Riddle who took the win over Tom Latham, Atkinson and Jason Fullen. Riddle also took the heat win over Atkinson & Neal.

Brian Downey led the first five laps of the 25-lap Legend main before being headed by Clark Dietzen. Dietzen led till lap 10 when he met up with Darrell Lee Brown and Downey. The yellow flew and Cribbs inherited the lead. Dr. Bill Cribbs went on to his first feature win pursued by James Robertson, Al Renner, Eric Black and Mark Sullivan.  

Black won the first heat race over Clark Dietzen and Greg Dietzen. Mike Satkowiak took the win in heat No. 2 over Daniel Russell and Roy Nicholson.

The ThunderCar Oval was a dandy with 29 cars starting the feature event. Shane Cullen wove in and out of traffic and avoided several close calls to cop the coins over Roy Grissom, Joe Walters, Tim Brown and Ranny Hinton.

Josh Tharp was the only leader in the ThunderCar Figure 8 which packed full of crossover action. Trailers were Mike Peters, Roy Grissom Sr.,  Donnie Ellis, Jr  and Tim Brown.

The Chappy's Rent To Own Front Wheel Drive race was wild as rain began to fall and cars were going everywhere. The race was checkered five laps early, but was an official race as it was past the half waypoint. Big Al Gabel took the win only to fail technical inspection and was disqualified. Sam Banta took home the hardware followed by Chris Jennings, Patrick Spillis, David Baker and Kevin Rhodus.
