Officials from Anderson Speedway have announced a Lap Sponsor Program for the 59th Pay Less Little 500 that will take place on Saturday, May 26. Lap Sponsors are available for each of the 500 laps at a cost of $50 per lap.

Each sponsor will be listed in the Official Pay Less Little 500 Souvenir Program and displayed on the Sam Pierce Chevrolet Scoreboard. Additionally, all lap sponsors will receive a ticket to pre-race hospitality area that includes a meet and greet with previous Little 500 champions. Individuals that purchase six or more laps will have the luxury of being involved in the pre and post race activities and having the honor of congratulating the champion of the 59th running of the historic event just minutes after winning the event.

The Pay Less Little 500 debuted in 1949 with Sam Skinner claiming the inaugural victory. In the 58-year history, some of America’s premier race drivers have participated in the unique 500-lap Sprint Car race. Indianapolis’ Eric Gordon is the all-time victory leader, claiming seven checkered flags including an amazing five consecutive wins. Ohio’s Bob Frey won on five occasions with Tom Cherry, of Muncie, Ind., scoring four victories. Twenty-four drivers have the distinction of winning the Pay Less Little 500.

The format of the Pay Less Little 500 is unique to Sprint Car racing. The starting grid is comprised of 33 cars in 11 rows of three, charging to the green flag. Two mandatory pits stops are required during the challenging 500-lap event. Billed as one of the most entertaining races in auto racing, fans will be filled with anticipation in the most exciting start to a racing event.

In the 2006 running of the Pay Less Little 500, Brian Tyler of Mount Pleasant, N.C. turned in a flawless performance, winning the event in his 13th attempt. Tyler wheeled the Roger Harshbarger entry to a four-lap victory over Eric Gordon. Third-place honors went to Tony Elliott with 30-time Little 500 starter Jeff Bloom and Russ Gamester rounding out the top-five finishers.
