WLBC / MAX Summer Series on Friday, SuperTrucks, Street Stocks, Kenyon Midgets and Figure 8's on Saturday

Anderson Speedway returns to action this weekend with the WLBC / MAX Friday Summer Series on Friday, September 7. The racing lineup includes Newco Metals Legends, ThunderCars along with Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 action.

Watch the NASCAR races this weekend on the big screen television provided by Chappy’s Rent to Own.

On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 8. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

Frankton’s John Robbins has constructed the largest points lead of the Newco Metals Legends season with a 204 point margin over defending division champion Rodney Smith. Third in the standings is Billy Smith, who has produced 15 top-10 finishes. Mark Dietzen is fourth with Eric Black rounding out the top five in the point standings.

After crossing the finish line second in the feature last Friday, Lonny Burton advanced to first position in the ThunderCar point standings. He leads Nick Warner by four points. Six-time feature winner Sam Folsom is third, just 30 markers from first position. Alexandria’s Alice Riall ranks fourth with Anderson’s Tim Nickerson in fifth spot.

In the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives, Bryan Wright continues to pace the Oval standings with a 138 point advantage over Alan Wagner. Third in the point standings is Kevin Harmon. In the Figure 8 points rundown, Nick Warner holds a 255 point margin over Jeff Wright. Third in the standings is Donnie Ellis Jr.

On Saturday, September 8, the Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks, Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks, Figure 8’s and Kenyon Midgets will be showcased on the world’s fastest quarter-mile oval.

On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

In the Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks, the entry owned by the late Bob Lemen and now driven by Bret Miles Jr. and most recently Jamie Haley, holds the first position. Anderson’s Brandon Phillips ranks second, just 52 markers from first place. Josh Poore is third with five-time race winner Brian Lemmer and Scott Brooks completing the top five.

Jake Owens holds the first position in the Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks with a 65 point lead over Willy DeHart. Third is Rob Allman with Jake McElfresh and Abe Puckett filling out the top five.

Veteran racer Rod Phipps continues to build his lead in the Figure 8’s with a 170 point lead over Ronnie Rose. Rookie Dustin Burge ranks in third position with four top-five finishes and 12 top 10s. Ranny Hinton is fourth with three feature wins and 12 top 10s. Herb Rose rounds out the top five.

The USAC Kenyon Midgets return on Saturday night for a 30-lap feature. Kyle Hamilton is atop the point standings heading into this weekend’s action. Second is Blake Fitzpatrick with Jeff Wimmenauer, Caleb Armstrong and Drew Charlson completing the top five.
