WLBC / MAX Summer Series on Friday Night, Regular Divisions Return on Saturday

The WLBC / MAX Friday Summer Series continues at Anderson Speedway on Friday, September 21 featuring Newco Metals Legends, UMRA Midgets, ImmediaDent ThunderCars along with Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 action.

On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 8. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

In the Newco Metals Legends, John Robbins continues to lead the standings with a 107 point margin over defending division champion Rodney Smith. Through 19 events, Robbins has recorded five feature victories and 18 top-10 finishes while Rodney Smith’s stats include six victories and 16 top 10s. The remainder of the top five includes Billy Smith, Mark Dietzen and Eric Black.

The closest points battle at Anderson Speedway takes place in the ImmediaDent ThunderCars. Anderson’s Lonny Burton leads Nick Warner by nine points. Burton has two wins and 16 top 10s while Warner has two feature victories and 15 top 10s. Alexandria’s Alice Riall is third with Rookie Sam Folsom and Tim Nickerson completing the top five.

In the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives, Bryan Wright recorded his first victory of the Oval season and extended his points lead to 304 markers over Allen Wagner with Tony Crum in third position. In the Figure 8’s rundown, Nick Warner has scored 13 race victories that have propelled him to 265 point lead over Jeff Wright with Donnie Ellis Jr. in third spot.

The United Midget Racing Association (UMRA) will make their initial appearance at the World’s Fastest Quarter Mile Oval on Friday night. Heading into this weekend’s action, Terry Goff leads Oogie Goff by 346 points in the series standings. The remainder of the top five includes Scott Petry, Ron Combs with former Anderson Speedway race winner Tate Martz rounding out the top five..

On Saturday, September 22, the lineup includes Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks, ImmediaDent Figure 8’s, Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks and Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 action.

In the Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks, the truck owned by Bob Lemen and driven recently by Bret Miles Jr. and Jamie Hadley holds a 52 point lead over Brandon Phillips. Third in the standings is Josh Poore, who has posted 11 top-10 finishes. Brian Lemmer and Scott Brooks rounded out the top five.

Veteran racer Rod Phipps is inching closer to the ImmediaDent Figure 8 championship with a 240 point lead over Ronnie Rose. Through 15 events, Phipps has collected three victories and 14 top 10s while Rose has a single victory and 15 top 10s. Rookie Dustin Burge is third with Ranny Hinton and Herb Rose filling out the top five.

The Lampco Federal Credit Union Street Stocks return to action after nearly a month from their most recent event. Jake Owens holds a 65 point margin over Willy DeHart. Third in the standings is Rob Allman with Jake McElfresh and Abe Puckett completing the top five.
