In the Top 10 After First Full SuperTruck Season
Joshua Timmerman, 20, finishes in the
top ten in the Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks at Anderson Speedway and takes
home the Rocky Tharp Memorial Sportsmanship Award. The 2007 season marked JNB
Motorsports first full year of racing at Anderson Speedway earning 8 top ten
finishes and placing 9th in points.
But the 2007 SuperTruck season did not always go smoothly noted Timmerman,
“during one of our practices, we discovered the drive shaft had broken in half
on the 09 SuperTruck and rather than forfeit the race, we decided to measure the
drive shaft on our pickup truck, and as luck would have it, it was exactly the
right size. So, off with the old and on with the new...................allowing
us to have a top ten finish.”
He continued, “our team, Bruce (my Father and Crew Chief), Chris Jacobs (my
bother-in-law) Kraig Bontrager and Keith Anderson (high school friends), had
many challenges throughout the year, the last being when I hit the wall during
the last race, but, as a team, we were able to overcome most of them and we look
forward to starting the 2008 season. “JNB Motorsports had a great 2007 season,”
Timmerman noted, “there’s no reason we cannot finish in the top five next year.
There’s going to be a lot of competition at Anderson next year, and we have to
make sure the 09 SuperTruck is as good as it can be for every race. I’m looking
forward to next year and think it is going to be a great year for JNB
When Timmerman is not racing, he attends the University of Northwestern Ohio
where he is studying to attain a combined degree in Business Administration with
a special discipline in Automotive Management and is expected to graduate in
2010. Timmerman also works full time at Painters Supply and Equipment Company
and is currently training to takeover as Manager of the Northwestern Ohio
Territory in January, 2008.
