Early Anderson 400
Midget Classic Entries Announced
Speedway officials today announced some of the early entries for this weekends
inaugural Anderson 400 Midget Classic sanctioned by the United States Auto Club.
Heading the list is 2000 USAC Silver Crown and 2002 USAC Sprint Car champion
Tracy Hines. The New Castle, Ind., native currently leads the USAC Mopar
National Midget Series standings and is no stranger to Anderson Speedway behind
the wheel of a midget. Hines already has one career midget at the world’s
fastest quarter mile oval.
Other notables already entered include New Castle’s Dakoda Armstrong and
long-time open wheel standout Bobby East, who won the USAC National Midget event
in April. Other drivers include Joe Ligouri, and Canadian Driver Alison MacLeod.
But perhaps the biggest surprise is eight-time Pay Less Little 500 champion Eric
Gordon. Gordon has dominated the marathon sprint car race at Anderson winning
six of the previous eight Pay Less Little 500's and eight overall dating back to
his first win in 1993. Recently dubbed 'Mr. Little 500', Gordon will be making
his first appearance in a midget at Anderson. He will have his work cut out for
him as he gets acclimated to the smaller wheelbase and less horse powered midget
