Hoppes, Burge and Keller Bag Wins at Anderson

t was a special edition of the MAX/WLBC Friday Night Summer Series Friday evening at Anderson Speedway with Randy Hoppes claiming the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Pro feature while Andy Keller copped the Figure 8 main and Travis Burge grabbed the Thundercar headliner.

In Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Pro action Randy Hoppes took the lead from Peter Corsaro on lap 9 with Jared Keller glued to his bumper. Keller tangled with Corsaro on lap 16, eliminating himself and sending Hoppes on to the win over a fast closing Kevin Harmon. Jeff Williams was 3rd, Andy Keller 4th and Harry LaShure 5th. Jared Keller and Burge were heat winners with Harmon setting fast time at 16.130 seconds.

In the Quick Auto front Wheel Drive Figure 8'sTravis Burge led the first 4 laps before Donnie Ellis, Jr took over the point. His mount then failed on lap 9 vaulting Burge back to the point. Burge and Andy Keller battled for the lead with Keller taking control for good on lap 12 and sailing on to his second win of the year. Finishing out the top five were Burge, Jared Keller, Harry LaShure and Peter Corsaro.

In Thundercar racing, Travis Burge grabbed the lead early and never looked back as he sailed on to his fourth feature win of the season defeating Lonnie Burton by two lengths. Finishing out the top 5 were Sam Folsom, Tom Tackett and Stephen Councellor. Tackett and Elliott McKinney were heat winners with Burton fast timer at 15.070 seconds.

The Midget 400 Classic will take place on Saturday, July 26. Watch the nations top Midget Car drivers compete in this first ever race with live pit stops. Gates open at 4 p.m. with the race beginning at approximately 8 p.m. All adult general admission tickets are $22 and kids under 12 are $10.
