Goff, Riall, Saxon and Warner Sizzle

A warm race night saw some hot racing action at Anderson Speedway in the MAX/WLBC Friday Night Summer Series as Terry Goff grabbed the UMRA Midget feature while Alice Riall took the Thundercar main, Jeff Saxon sailed in the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Amateur Oval and Nick Warner captured the wild Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 feature.

In UMRA action, an exciting 21 car field put on a battle with Tate Martz leading much of the event but was hounded by Terry Goff. With two laps to go, the leaders approached a pack of slower cars. Martz did a wheel to wheel ramp onto one of the slower cars allowing Goff to slip by and go on to his 102nd career win. Trailing Goff were Martz, Kenny Byrge, Scott Petry and Brent Turner. Martz and Petry were heat race winners.

Alice Riall used a good starting position to jump to an early lead and sail on to her first victory of the season in the Thundercar headliner. A big battle in the pack saw Tom Tackett take 2nd followed by Sam Folsom, Lonny Burton and Hannah Lundy round out the top five. Tackett and Riall were heat winners.

Quick Auto Front Wheel drive Oval action saw Jeff Saxon look like a rocket out of a cannon as he sailed to his fourth feature win of the season. Trailers were Jeff Williams, Kevin Harmon, Andy Keller and Donnie Ellis, III rounding out the top five. Williams took his first win ever in the first heat with Harry LaShure taking heat #2.

In the wild Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 feature, Travis Burge led the first three circuits before Nick Warner went to the point. Warner was almost hit twice in the crossover by traffic and had to be very defensive. Warner went on to his fourth win of the year. Finishing out the top five were Andy Keller, Travis Burge, Tony Torres and Harry LaShure.

Speedway officials are preparing for the big weekend next Friday and Saturday as the Annual Anderson 400 featuring the CRA Series Late Models in a 300 lap feature and the CRA Street Stocks competing in a 100 Lap feature on Saturday night. The WLBC/MAX Friday night Summer Series continues on Friday night with the exciting Kenyon Midgets highlighting the race card.
