Wimmenauer, Burge, Harmon and Warner Score Wins

Jeff Wimmenauer scored the feature win in the Kenyon Midgets Friday evening at Anderson Speedway in the WLBC/MAX Summer Series. Travis Burge captured the exciting Thndercar main while Kevin Harmon was the victor in the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Amateur oval headliner and Nick Warner bagged another figure 8.

In the Kenyon Midgets feature, Drew Charlson led the first seven laps before Jeff Wimmenauer made the race winning pass on the inside. Jeff went on to the victory over Charlson, Caleb Armstrong, Dalton Armstrong and Mike Terry, Jr. Dalton Armstrong and Taylor Ferns were heat winners with Caleb Armstrong fast qualifier at 12.749 seconds.

The Thundercar headliner was close to the finish Alice Riall led every lap but the one that counted. Travis Burge tried Riall several times on the outside but couldn't get the job done. They were joined by Lonnie Burton and Sam Folsom with a five car dog fight the last five laps. Riall could not hold of everyone and it was Burge's persistency paying off as he made the winning pass on the last corner of the last lap for his fifth victory of the season. Riall was 2nd followed by Burton, Folsom and Tom Tackett rounded out the top five. Jerry Mandrell and Dennis Farver, Sr were heat winners with Folsom the fast timer at 15.134 seconds.

Mike Alley was the early leader in the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive main event. Kevin Harmon, who started in 9th position, made the inside pass on lap eight to sail on to his first win of the season defeating Jeff Saxon, Jared Keller, Jeff Williams and Harry LaShure in that order. Jeff Wiliams and Tony Torres were heat winners with Jared Keller the fast qualifier at 16.206 seconds.

In the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Figure 8's, defending track champion Nick Warner made quick work of the competition grabbing the lead at the get-go. He got a scare as Andy Keller jumped around him with three laps to go but a red flag cooled things down. Tony Torres hit the wall and rolled his car onto its top. Torres was uninjured. On the restart, Warner left little doubt as he jetted back around Keller to coast on to his fifth victory of the season. Trailers were Andy Keller, Travis Burge, Peter Carsaro & Tim Harrod to round out the top five.
