WLBC / MAX Summer Series on Friday, H.O.S.S. Winged Sprints Return Saturday

Anderson Speedway returns to racing action on Friday, August 15, with the WLBC / MAX Friday Night Summer showcasing Kenyon Midgets, ThunderCars and Quick Auto Front Wheel Drives in Amateur and Figure 8 action.

On Saturday, August 16, the H.O.S.S. Winged Sprint Cars return for their final visit of the season at Anderson Speedway. The Street Stocks, ImmediaDent Figure 8’s and KOIL Legends will also be in action on Saturday night.

The Kenyon Midgets will make a second consecutive appearance during the Friday night program. Last week, Jeff Wimmenauer scored the victory in the 25-lap feature over Drew Charlson and Caleb Armstrong.

Lonny Burton continues to hold first position in the ThunderCar standings with a 65 point advantage over Sam Folsom. Third is Tom Tacket with Travis Burge and Tim Nickerson rounding out the top five.

After posting a feature victory last weekend, Kevin Harmon moved into the first position in the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Amateur division point standings. He holds a 16 point lead over Jeff Saxon. The remainder of the top five includes Andy Keller, Jared Keller and Harry Lashure.

Andy Keller holds a 160 point lead over Donnie Ellis Jr. in the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 point standings. Ranking third is Harry Lashure with Jared Keller and Peter Corsaro completing the top five.

On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 8. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

The H.O.S.S. Winged Sprint Cars return to the world’s fastest quarter-mile oval for the final occasion this season. Track qualifying record holder Geoff Kaiser sits atop the series point standings, but Jimmy McCune has the advantage of winning the previous event at Anderson Speedway. McCune also has won the “King of the Wings” feature at Winchester Speedway last weekend. Other top performers in the H.O.S.S. series include Greg Wheeler and Jerry Caryer.

Jeff Perry is ranked first in the Street Stocks standings with a 79 point margin over Rob Allman. Early season winner Katie Jackson is third with Ronnie Rose and Jake McElfresh completing the top five.

In the ImmediaDent Figure 8’s, Ranny Hinton holds a 28 point lead over Rob Allman. Previous champions Ronnie Rose, Mike Riddle along with 2008 winner Joe Hart Jr. fill out the top five in the standings.

The KOIL Legends return to Anderson Speedway on Saturday. Many of the competitors that regularly compete in the Newco Metals Legends will take on the traveling KOIL regulars. In the Newco Metals Legends, defending division champion John Robbins holds a commanding advantage over Billy Smith and Mark Dietzen.
