Regular Divisions Return on Friday and Saturday Nights

Anderson Speedway returns to racing action on Friday, August 22, with the WLBC / MAX Friday Night Summer showcasing Newco Metals Legends, ThunderCars and Quick Auto Front Wheel Drives in Amateur and Figure 8 action.

On Saturday, August 23, the Ed Martin Chevrolet SuperTrucks return to action along with ImmediaDent Figure 8’s, CRA Street Stocks and UMRA Midgets.

In the Newco Metals Legends, defending division champion John Robbins holds nearly a 200 point advantage over Billy Smith. The remainder of the top five includes Mark Dietzen, Adam Roberts and Clark Dietzen.

Lonny Burton extended his ThunderCar points lead to 68 markers after crossing the finish line in fourth position last weekend. Sam Folsom is solidly in the runner-up position with veteran Tom Tacket in third spot. Travis Burge and Tim Nickerson complete the top five.

In the Quick Auto Front Wheel Drive Amateur division, Kevin Harmon leads Jeff Saxon by 46 points. Andy Keller, Jared Keller and Ray Zirkle round out the top five. In the Figure 8’s, Andy Keller has constructed a 195 point margin over Harry Lashure with Jared Keller, Donnie Ellis Jr. and Peter Corsaro filling out the top five.

On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 8. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

Joe Beaver leads the Ed Martin Chevrolet SuperTruck point standings with a 28 point margin over Josh Poore, who tops the victory charts in the division. Third is Jerry Faucett with Rod Phipps and Josh Timmerman rounding out the top five.

The CRA Street Stocks return to the world’s fastest quarter-mile oval on Saturday along with the Anderson Speedway Street Stocks. Jeff Perry continues to pace the Street Stock standings with a 75 point lead over Rob Allman. The remainder of the top five includes Katie Jackson, Ronnie Rose and Jake McElfresh.

Ranny Hinton sits atop the ImmediaDent Figure 8 standings with a 31 point lead over Rob Allman. Third is Ronnie Rose with Mike Riddle Jr. in fourth and Joe Hart Jr. ranked in fifth spot.

The UMRA Midgets make a return trip on Saturday with Terry Goff in the first position in the series point standings. Second is all-time USAC Midget feature winner at Anderson Speedway Tate Martz. Third is Patrick Wolf with Bobby Walton and rookie Brent Turner completing the top five.

On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing program beginning at 8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
