Anderson Speedway has published the ticket order form for the 61st Pay Less Little 500 set for Saturday, May 23, 2009. Ticket orders are available for the 2009 running of the legendary Little 500 at $27. All seats are reserved.

The format of the Pay Less Little 500 is unique to Sprint Car racing. The starting grid is comprised of 33 cars in 11 rows of three, charging to the green flag. Two mandatory pits stops are required during the challenging 500-lap event. Billed as one of the most entertaining races in auto racing, fans will be filled with anticipation in the most exciting start to a racing event.

Kokomo’s Shane Cottle scored the biggest win of his racing career capturing the 60th running of the Pay Less Little 500 at Anderson Speedway in 2008.

Cottle took the lead for the final time on lap 378 with an outside pass of Ryan Litt going down the back straight. He then held off former Kokomo resident Tony Elliott during a 25-lap sprint to the finish to record the win.

Rounding out the top five were rookie Johnny Rodriguez, Litt and Peru native Russ Gamester.

Cottle’s victory was the first for a Madison County based team since Wayne Alspaugh captured the event in 1958. It marked the first victory for team owner Larry Contos.

The Little 500 week kicks off on Wednesday, May 20 with the Winged Sprint Cars featuring an event presented by Sam Pierce Chevrolet. Pole Qualifying is set for May 21 with Bump Day and a $2 local show with Fireworks slated for May 22. The 61st Pay Less Little 500 on Saturday, May 23 concludes the exciting race week.
