Opening Points Night on Saturday; USAC National Midgets Return on Sunday Afternoon

Anderson Speedway returns to racing action with a big double header weekend with opening points night on Saturday, April 4 and the USAC Mopar National Midget Series on Sunday, April 5.

On Saturday Night, April 4 the Street Stocks, Figure 8, ThunderCars and Front Wheel Drive Oval divisions begin their 2009 seasons. Come and be part of Spirit night at Anderson Speedway. Check out more details at www.andersonspeedway.com.

The USAC Mopar National Midget Series return to the world’s fastest quarter mile oval on Sunday afternoon, April 5. Some of the nations top open wheel competitors will compete in a 100-lap event.

Darren Hagen currently leads the USAC Mopar National Midget Series with a 20 point margin over Brad Sweet, who drives for Kasey Kahne Racing. Hagen earned a February victory at Perris Auto (CA) Speedway while Sweet posted a victory in the season opening event at Manzanita (CA) Speedway. Third in the standings is Brad Kuhn while Bobby East and Tracy Hines round out the top five in the early season point standings.

The Kenyon Midgets will also be part of the Sunday afternoon racing program in their first event of the season.

On Saturday, April 4, spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with the racing beginning at 7. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

On Sunday, April 5, spectator gates open at 11:15 a.m. with the racing beginning at 2. Admission is $15 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
