Ross Kenseth Chasing Victory in Return

(April 10, 2011) – Rising star Ross Kenseth will return to Anderson Speedway for the season opening CRA Super Series Seal Wrap 125 presented by Great Deals Savings Magazine on Saturday, April 16.

Ross, the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Matt Kenseth, will make his second appearance at Anderson Speedway. He debuted at the high-banked quarter-mile oval last July in the Welch & Wilson Motorsports Redbud 300 leading the initial 29 circuits and dropping out of contention on lap 64 after mechanical troubles hampered his No. 25 Ford.

“The key for us is to not beat ourselves. Last year I thought we were just as good as Kyle (Busch) and Chase (Elliott), but with our alternator going bad we never had a chance to show it. I'm really excited to be coming back to Anderson and won't be satisfied with anything less than a win,” said Ross Kenseth.

Kenseth competed in a partial CRA Super Series schedule in 2010 with impressive results. He recorded CRA victories at Winchester Speedway and Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis. Other season highlights for Kenseth included an ASA Midwest Tour victory at Elko (MN) Speedway and fourth place points finish in that series.

CRA recently announced that double file restarts will become a regular part of their events with Anderson Speedway marking the debut for the Super Late Models in the Northern Series.

“I'm very excited about double file restarts. It was a big hit at the Rowdy Busch race at Berlin. I think it makes it a little easier for the faster cars to get to the front and it definitely makes a better show for the fans.”

The season opener for CRA at Anderson usually has its share of aggressive drivers who are looking to advance from deep starting positions while competitors that start near the front may be more patient around the action packed track.

“I’m planning to use patience and aggressiveness during the race. You'll have some guys beat up their tires early but you don’t want to save your stuff too much. When the time comes to go you want to be in good position to take the lead.”

Kenseth will have sponsorship backing from Blain’s Farm and Fleet on his Generation 3 Motorsports Entry.

Don’t miss the CRA Super Series Late Models when they invade Anderson Speedway on Saturday, April 16 in the Seal Wrap 125 presented by Great Deals Savings Magazine.
