UMRA Midgets, Figure 8's, WMDH ThunderCars and Front Wheel Drives Oval on Saturday Night

(August 4, 2011) – Racing action returns to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, August 6 with three divisions in action on the high-banked quarter-mile oval. The racing lineup will showcase UMRA Midgets, Figure 8's, WMDH ThunderCars and Front Wheel Drive Oval.

The UMRA Midgets will return to Anderson Speedway on Saturday night for their first visit since Terry Goff earned his 25th career victory last September. In the 2011 point standings, C.J. Leary leads with Jason Goff with Terry Goff completing the top three performers.

Curtis Chapman is inching closer to his second Figure 8 championship. He has showed impressive consistency with nine top-five finishers in nine events. Four victories have placed Josh Tharp in second spot with other strong performances being turned in by Jeff Swinford and James Peterson.

Hannah Lundy paces the WMDH ThunderCar point standings after earning a runner-up finish in the most recent event and Lonny Burton experiencing some bad luck. Third is Rob Allman with Ronnie Rose and Rob Noel rounding out the top five.

In the Front Wheel Drive Figure Oval division, Jeff Williams holds a comfortable advantage over Ron Phipps. After posting seven victories in nine events, Williams has built a nice lead over his challengers. Third is Marshall Clark with Trevin Henson and Zackary Kendall completing the top five.

On Saturday, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
