Forecasted Frigid Evening Wind Chills Leads to Re-Schedule of Saturday's CRA Event

(April 11, 2013) -
Officials from Anderson Speedway, with co-operation from CRA Powered by JEGS officials, announced that due to forecasted frigid wind chill temperatures for this Saturday evening, the season opener for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS has been postponed. The “Sell it Again, Sam !” 125 presented by Great Deals Savings Magazine and Ponderosa Steakhouse at Anderson Speedway has now been moved to Saturday, May 4.

"It's always a big deal when the stars from CRA show up for the Super Series events, and we owe it to the fans to try and give them the best environment possible to enjoy the show," commented Anderson Speedway President Rick Dawson. "With forecasted wind chills in the evening in the mid 30's, it just wasn't going to be any fun for fans, racers or officials...and the bottom line is, this needs to be fun for everyone!"

As a result of the postponement of Saturday Night's activities and subsequent reschedule, the CRA Stealth Street Stocks Powered by JEGS event that was originally scheduled on Saturday Night May 4, has been moved to Saturday, April 27. The Night of Thrills has been removed on Saturday, April 27. The WMDH ThunderCars, Legends and Front Wheel Drive Oval divisions are joining CRA Stealth Street Stocks Powered by JEGS to round out the racing lineup.

Anderson Speedway officials also noted that the 13th Annual Glen Niebel Classic Mel Kenyon 100 for the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series powered by UAW and Kenyon Midgets on Sunday afternoon are on schedule. The weather forecasted for the afternoon events as sunny and almost 70 degrees.

Anderson's open practice scheduled for Friday evening is still on as well.
