Warner, McKinney Win FWD Action;
Phipps, Henson Champions

(October 20, 2013) - Nick Warner won his third Front Wheel Drive Oval feature of the year in only his fifth race in the division during UAW Paint the Night Pink at Anderson Speedway.

Warner was quickest during qualifying and led all 25 laps chased by newly crowned division champion Paul Phipps.

Jerry Dane, Ryan Claborn and Chris Jennings rounded out the top five.Phipps locked up the championship when Elliott McKinney lost a right rear tire on lap 16 while running fourth.

McKinney, who started seventh in the 21 car field got inside of Marshall Clark Jr. on lap eighth to move into the fourth position with Clark spinning a lap later.

From there the leaders ran in a straight line with Claborn passing McKinney on lap 12 on the back straight and four laps later McKinney’s bid for the championship ended.

Despite being involved in a lap six incident at the crossover, Kevin Henson secured the Front Wheel Drive Figure-8 title.

Henson was collected after Lawrence Jones and Jamie Valentine made contact in the crossover, leaving Henson to where to go to avoid the accident.

Elliott McKinney led the entire distance holding off Claborn and Warner. Claborn passed Warner on the final lap when Warner got loose coming off the fourth corner.
