Bentley Warren to Run Final Little 500

Legendary open-wheel racer, Bentley Warren of Kennebunkport, Maine, will drive for Brad and Tara Armstrong at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, May 28 in the 57th Pay Less / Remy International Little 500.

It will be Warren’s final appearance in the event in which he has won twice. Warren, who has won in nearly every-type of racing vehicle that he has competed in, ranging from Indy-type Roadsters, to today’s ultra-modern Supermodifieds, has had a career that has spanned over four decades. His success and persona has made him a legend throughout the motorsports world.

“I’m really looking forward to this event,” stated Warren, who won the event twice, both times piloting cars for the renowned Glen Neibel. "I’m not teaming up with Brad and Tara just to run the race, I’m going into this with the thought that I can win. They have great equipment and I feel great. I know its going to be a great combination and I can’t wait to get on the track and get down to racing.”

Armstrong, a USAC competitor himself, holds Warren in high regard. In 2003 Armstrong led 60-laps of the event before finishing 15th.

“We’re looking forward to having Bentley drive our car,” related Armstrong. “He is one of the all-time greats and we’re definitely looking for results. We have some great people standing behind us, supporting our effort and we think we’ve put together quite an effort for the Little 500. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Sponsorship support will come from the following companies; McCloskey International Ltd., in Peterborough, Ontario, Diversified Insurance Brokerage Group Inc., and Armstrong Garage Doors, Inc., New Palestine, Indiana.

Warren’s two victories in the 500-lap event came in 1995 and 1997. In the month of May Warren has also competed at the Brickyard in the Indianapolis 500. His last open-wheel victory came in an I.S.M.A. Supermodified event at the demanding 1/3-mile Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway in 2002.
