Don Miller Tire Wheel to Wheel Weekend Featured on Friday and Saturday

Anderson Speedway returns to racing action with Don Miller Tire Wheel to Wheel Weekend kicking off on Friday, June 3. The MAX/WLBC Friday Night Summer Series will feature Legends, Insight ThunderCars in Oval and Figure 8 racing along with Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8 racing.

On Saturday Night, June 4, the Star Press Saturday Night Series features the USA Modified Tour, Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTrucks and Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8’s.

Four consecutive feature wins have placed Daniel Russell in first place in Legends action. Russell has 78 point cushion on last week’s runner-up T.J. Sneva. 2004 division runner-up John Robbins ranks third with Scott McGinley and Clark Dietzen completing the top five.

Alexandria’s Alice Riall continues to pace the Insight ThunderCar Oval division with consistent finishes during the opening four events. She has collected one feature victory and four top-five finishes. Brandon Phillips ranks second, 20 points behind Riall. Third is Roy Grissom Sr. with Robert Brumback and A.J. Jones rounding out the top five.

A division leading five top fives has propelled Paris Swallows Jr. to the top spot in the Insight ThunderCar Figure 8 points rundown. He leads Mike Peters by 36 markers. Terry Malone Jr. recorded his second season victory on May 27 and ranks third in the standings. Robert Brumback and Roy Grissom Sr. complete the top five.

Kreigh Leever holds a 30 point lead in the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Oval point standings after placing third last Friday Night. Second in the rundown is Nick Warner with Dustin Burge in third, just one point behind Warner. The remainder of the top five includes season winners Sam Folsom and Brad Stevens.

Continuing his superb beginning to the Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Figure 8 season, Nick Warner holds a 70 point margin over second place Randy Owen. Third is Allen Wagner, with most recent winner Chris Teepe fourth and Keith Morris completing the top five.

On Friday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with racing beginning at 8. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.

The USA Modified Tour will make its first appearance of the season on Saturday Night. Heading into the event, R.J. Norton leads the point standings over Gary Bedell, former Anderson Speedway track champion Jeff Weston, Scott Coe and most recent winner Harold Scott fills out the top five. Former track titlist Mark Harrison will be one of the drivers to watch this weekend along with New Castle’s Rodney Scott.

Five consecutive top-five finishes have allowed Tony Broyles to construct a 276 point lead in the Ed Martin Auto Group SuperTruck point standings over Robert Lemen. Third is Ronnie Rose, who recorded his third feature victory on May 21 during The Star Press Spring Championships. Anderson driver Mike Mendenhall is fourth with Steve Blair rounding out the top five.

Jeff Swinford sits atop the competitive Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8’s with a 101-point edge on four-time feature winner Ronnie Rose. Third is Josh Tharp with Jason Pitts and Curtis Chapman completing the top five.

On Saturday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with racing beginning at 8. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
