Competitors in the USAC Regional, Indiana Ford Focus and
Kenyon Midget Car Series continue their seasons Wednesday with another dose of “Wednesday Night Thunder,” this time at Anderson Speedway.

The quarter-mile track is hosting its first weekly “Wednesday Night Thunder” tripleheader since May 3.

Brandon Wagner of Lafayette, Ind. won his first USAC Regional Midget Car Series race last Wednesday at South Bend (Ind.) Motor Speedway, taking over from Tate Martz midway through the 30-lapper and leading until the checkered flag. He claimed the win by mere inches over Bryan Clauson, who gathered enough momentum to pull alongside Wagner on the last lap only to fall short.

Bobby Santos III, Brian Olson and Martz rounded out the Top 5.

Scott Thoman continues to lead the points despite suffering two blown right rear tires at South Bend, the second of which occurred during the feature while he was leading.

Martz, who led several laps in the Regional race, took the Indiana / Midwest Ford Focus Pavement Midget Car Series event at South Bend, leading all 30 laps in the Tony Stewart Racing/Lucas Oil Beast. The victory was Martz’s third at South Bend in three tries. Behind were Zach Schiff, James Robertson, Mario Clouser and Casey Riggs. Schiff now leads Robertson by two points in the standings.

Chris Windom continued his supremacy in Kenyon Midget action, extending his point lead by winning his third straight series race by leading all 30 laps.

Trailing were 2004 champion Dakoda Armstrong, Kenny Biro, Sammy Imel and Blake Fitzpatrick. Imel is the only other driver to win a Kenyon feature this season, winning at his hometown track of Anderson.

On Wednesday Night, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 6:45.
