New Year's Day Racing Set for Sunday

The 8th Annual New Year’s Day Bash presented by Yellow Book will take place at Anderson Speedway on Sunday, January 1, 2006, featuring Figure 8’s, Open Street Stocks, Insight ThunderCars along with Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drives on the Oval and Figure 8.

In last year’s New Year’s Day Bash, nearly 100 cars battled on January 1. Anderson’s Rich Boyer earned the victory in the Open Street Stock feature with Rod Phipps winning in Figure 8’s and Curtis Chapman grabbing top honors in the Insight ThunderCars. Nick Warner claimed victories in both Chappy’s Rent to Own Front Wheel Drive Oval and Figure 8 events.

On Sunday, January 1, spectator gates open at 11 a.m. with the racing program going green at approximately 1 p.m.

General admission tickets will be priced at $10 for adults, $4 for children 6-12 with kids five and under admitted free. A limited number of tickets are available in heated suites for a price of $25 per person.
